AABA’s Civil Rights Committee along with community based organizations and government agencies have collaborated on a Know Your Rights event targeting women of color service workers in the SF Bay Area. The event will provide information about their workplace rights (such as parental leave) as well as information about their children’s educational rights such as disability rights, English Learner rights, and information on how to help their kids enter science and technology jobs. This is one small step toward diversifying the tech industry while providing children of service workers a pathway to a living wage job in the Bay Area.

We are looking for volunteers who can act as Cantonese, Arabic, and Spanish interpreters, provide pro bono advice or consultation to these workers under the supervision of the Employment Law Center’s Workers Rights Clinic, as well as other duties.

Click here to sign up as a volunteer.

Please see the attached flyer for more information and contact CRC co-chair, Christy Kwon (christy.kwon@nlrb.gov), to get involved.

All paid AABA members can register for our CLE or many other events for free. Join now to enjoy this member only benefit!
