Dale Minami Public Interest Fellowship

The Dale Minami Public Interest Fellowship was created in 2007 to provide modest fellowship awards to Berkeley Law (Boalt Hall) alumni who have shown a strong commitment to serving the public interest. Minami Fellows are selected for their diverse backgrounds, record of exceptional academic and professional accomplishment, leadership in community service, and commitment to social justice and public interest work. The award can be used to supplement annual income or used toward bar exam preparation expenses. Priority will be given to applicants who have worked with the Asian American Pacific Islander community. Individuals working in any range of public interest jobs, including government work, are invited to apply.

South Asian Bar Association of Northern California (SABA-NC) - Public Interest Fellowship

The SABA-NC Foundation (“Foundation”) is the charitable arm of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California. It was established in 1999 to support SABA-NC’s community outreach and advocacy programs. The SABA-NC Foundation’s mission is to promote access to justice for all people in the community, particularly those struggling with economic crisis, abuse, and discrimination. The Foundation is the embodiment of SABA-NC’s commitment to this fundamental principle. The SABA-NC Foundation accomplishes this mission by providing fellowships and grants to law students and organizations that seek to provide quality legal services and address unmet legal needs in the South Asian community and the Northern California community-at-large.

The Foundation provides financial assistance in the form of a fellowship for a law student or a recent graduate working at a public interest or government agency. The primary purpose of the fellowship is to fund an internship with a public interest organization or government agency in Northern California that is doing work, which impacts the South Asian community and/or the Northern California community-at-large.

The John Foy & Associates Strong Arm Leukemia Scholarship

John Foy & Associates is known as the “Strong Arm of Georgia”. We are a tough Atlanta Personal Injury law firm that will fight to the finish for our clients. But our associates know that not every battle is fought in the courtroom. Fighting a disease requires more than a legal “Strong Arm”-it requires a dedicated team of medical staff, loved ones and countless more. Fighting leukemia requires determination, drive and diligence in both the patient and the patient’s loved ones. Often, the battle is a solitary one, isolating the patient and family. Our firm associates recognize this. That’s why we are delighted to introduce the first-ever John Foy & Associates “Strong Arm” Leukemia Scholarship.

The John Foy & Associates “Strong Arm” Leukemia Scholarship is open to high-achieving college students who meet this criteria:

  • You or a loved one have been affected by leukemia.
  • You are enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate or you are an incoming freshman at an accredited institution in the United States.

To apply, you must write a 500 to 1000 word essay on one of the three topics listed below and submit an official high school or college transcript.
