Stanford Law School is seeking a dynamic leader to guide this timely new initiative. The Executive Director will have the autonomy and responsibility to further develop the vision for the Center and to guide it to maturity. The right person for this position will be someone committed to transforming society with the imagination to dream big and the persistence and strategic skills to bring those plans to fruition.

Working with the Faculty, the Executive Director of the Center will:

• Provide leadership in developing and executing the Center’s strategic plan.
• Lead and oversee development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of programs.  Oversee program improvements and development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
• Represent the Center to the broader university, external community, and other stakeholders. Provide expert consultation related to program development, funding opportunities, or other specialty area. Engage with external constituencies, including research partners, donors, policy makers, and the media.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including faculty, students, and staff, both within the law school and throughout the University.
• Oversee all aspects of research and academic program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Teach relevant classes for Stanford law and other students, including research and policy-oriented classes that involve external stakeholders and policymakers.
• Hire Center staff and manage their ongoing professional development.  Coach and mentor program staff.
• Develop and maintain Center budget, supporting and engaging with fundraising efforts, including donor development and stewardship, grant writing and reporting, and other external relations activities.
