The Counsel, as a part of Alliance for Justice's Bolder Advocacy team, will provide training, technical assistance, write plain language legal guides, and engage in a variety of other communications with nonprofit and foundation staff, board members, and volunteers to help them understand their rights and abilities to advocate, lobby, engage in election related activities, and fund advocacy.

This position can be based in AFJ’s Northern California office in San Francisco, CA or remote in Northern California. Regardless of whether the employee is based in the office or not, they will be expected to participate in in-person meetings and trainings regularly in the San Francisco Bay Area when it is safe to do so. All staff are currently working remotely until at least the end of 2021. This position reports to the California Director, who is based in AFJ’s Southern California office in Los Angeles.
