UC Legal’s Health Affairs, Privacy & Data Protection (HAPDP) Practice Group offers a two year full-time fellowship to a person who recently has earned an advanced degree in law or a related field and is interested in exploring a career in the areas of health affairs, privacy or data protection law. In particular, we welcome recent graduates who have a strong academic record, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ability to think creatively. We also prefer that the Fellow has shown interest and/or prior experience in the areas of health affairs, privacy or data protection law such as through coursework or prior work experience.

Under the supervision of OGC HAPDP attorneys, the Fellow will conduct legal research; draft documents; attend client meetings, hearings, and negotiations, as appropriate and possible; and participate in other activities intended to expose the Fellow to the practice of law and substance of OGC HAPDP's specialties. Within the specialty of health affairs law, the Fellow would focus on issues ranging from health care transactions, reimbursement and regulation, fraud and abuse and internal investigations, and privacy. The Fellow would have the opportunity to work both at OGC and with attorneys at the campuses and medical centers.
