    Summary

    The Supervisory Civil Rights Analyst for the Civil Rights Evaluation is responsible for executing and monitoring the implementation of the policies and programs of the Office of Civil Rights Evaluation (Office), under the direct supervision of the Staff Director. Incumbent also conducts studies and prepares reports in the areas within the jurisdiction of the Commission and supervises the development of such studies and reports. The Office of Civil Rights Evaluation is responsible for appraising Federal civil rights laws and policies and for developing recommendations for enhancing civil rights protections under the law. The Office monitors the enforcement of Federal civil rights laws; conducts detailed evaluations of the policies, regulations, management, resources, and operations of Federal civil rights enforcement agencies and the effectiveness of these agencies in deterring and prosecuting incidents of unlawful discrimination; monitors and evaluates legal, legislative, economic, social, and fiscal developments that may influence the efficacy of Federal enforcement efforts. In fulfilling its responsibilities, the Office prepares and submits reports to Congress and the President containing findings and recommendations pertaining to Federal civil rights enforcement; prepares analyses of and recommendations regarding proposed legislation and Federal programs that affect civil rights law enforcement for inclusion in testimony or statements of the Commission before Congress or to the President; organizes and supports Commission fact-finding meetings, including briefings, consultations and hearings; conducts meetings and conferences for purposes of exchanging ideas and information among Federal officials and other public and private organizations that play a role in enforcing Federal civil rights laws; maintains liaison with Federal agencies on enforcement and other civil rights matters; and furnishes information, analyses and advice regarding Federal enforcement progra
