The University of California Hastings College of the Law is seeking candidates for appointments as both Adjunct Professors of Law and Lecturers. Applications will be accepted, and review will occur, on a rolling basis depending on the needs of the College for faculty in specialized fields.
Founded in 1878 by Serranus Clinton Hastings, the first Chief Justice of California, the UC Hastings College of the Law was California’s first law school and a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools. Situated in the heart of San Francisco's Civic Center, UC Hastings is in the midst of vibrant and world‐renowned technology and non‐ profit communities.

Applicants must have significant practice experience (at least five years for an entry‐level position and at least ten for a more senior appointment) or comparable experience in a full‐time academic position; a strong academic background; and a commitment to modeling the highest of professional standards as well as to teaching law. Candidates who reflect the breadth and diversity of the legal profession in the San Francisco Bay Area are encouraged to apply. Please send a cover letter and C.V. that describes your subject matter expertise and experience to firstname.lastname@example.org to apply. Applicants are also encouraged to send an optional statement addressing past and/or potential contributions to diversity through research, teaching, and/or service.
Successful candidates will teach courses mutually agreed upon during the fall, spring, and/or summer academic terms. Note that curricular needs vary over time. Compensation is based on course load and experience. Adjunct faculty and lecturers are supervised and evaluated by the Academic Dean of the College.
