    Over the last fifteen years, we’ve changed the face of home audio by inventing and building the wireless home sound system. We made it easy for people to listen to the music they love in any, or every, room of their home. To hear the songs they love, to discover new music they never knew existed, to enjoy it together, to move it freely around the house, and to appreciate it all with the highest sound quality. As a result, millions of people have filled their home with Sonos.  

    Now we’re embarking on our next phase. The internet has become sonic – we’re moving from a world of always typing, swiping and reading, to one where you can simply ask for anything, and hear it.

     Our strategy is to become the platform for the sonic internet. We build the software, hardware, and experiences that allow you to easily enjoy everything from the sonic internet. Music, podcasts, television, movies, and anything else the world dreams up.

    We will win in the next phase because we’re open (supporting all the services customers demand – music, voice, connected home, etc.), we’re a system (well curated set of products for everything throughout your life), and quality (an experience that just works, and products that look beautiful in your home).

    Three trends have put Sonos in a unique position to become the platform for the sonic internet:
    1) Explosive growth of streaming: streaming is growing in excess of 50% year-over-year. We expect over 1 billion people to be paying for streaming by 2020. And Sonos leads the way by supporting more streaming services than any other company.
    2) Introduction of voice control: we invented the smart speaker category, and now companies like Amazon and Google have joined us, and brought their own unique value with voice control and the ability to do additional things. Consumers are more comfortable than ever with putting an internet-connected speaker in their home. And we’re doing it differently, by supporting all the voice services that matter to customers. 
    3) Rise of the connected home: virtually every home in the countries we want to be is now connected with WiFi, and Consumers are seeking out devices that are connected and can make their lives easier. Sonos plays right into that trend.
