In this role, you will provide timely and accurate legal counsel across a wide range of initiatives and projects. We are seeking a practical business partner with proven experience closing sales and vendor agreements and handling a broad range of technology transactions, including software licensing and commercial contracts. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and is a motivated team player.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate various contracts, including customer, vendor and business development contracts.
- Provide legal and strategic business advice and support across a broad spectrum of internal functions.
- Participate in monitoring and administering the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements, including global data protection and privacy laws.
- Build and improve legal team processes as we scale.
Requirements
- 4+ years experience, either in-house at a scaling tech startup or at a national law firm, drafting, negotiating, and advising technology companies on a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
- JD, admitted to the CA bar in good standing or registered in-house counsel.
- Ability to negotiate positively and proactively with internal and external clients and efficiently close transactions.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to strike practical balance between legal risks and the need to do business.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with strong work ethic, personal integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage business expectations in a fast-paced environment.
