The IP, Tech & Data Group of Reed Smith LLP is currently seeking an exceptional mid-level associate with 4-6 years of experience to join the firm's Silicon Valley office. Reed Smith's IP, Tech & Data Group comprises nearly 100 lawyers and spans the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France. The group provides counsel and litigation services throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and other parts of the world. Successful candidates will have a broad range of IP experience, with a focus on trademark and copyrights. Candidates must have significant experience with U.S. and foreign trademark filings, portfolio management, clearance and litigation, including before the TTAB and federal court. Candidates should have experience with trademark disputes and enforcement, including preparing and responding to cease and desist letters, take down requests and UDRP proceedings. Candidates must also be well-versed in USPTO and international filing processes, trademark searches, licensing and IP related due diligence. Strong writing and analytical skills and demonstration of a high degree of initiative are must-haves. This position is not focused on patent prosecution or patent litigation. Ideal candidates will possess strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school. Candidate must be licensed to practice in California.
