Employment Counsel - Cruise Automation

    The rapidly growing Cruise legal team is looking for a pragmatic self-starter to join our Litigation group as Employment Counsel. In this role, you will provide practical, business-focused, on-time legal advice primarily to the People Operations, Human Resources, and Recruiting teams. You will report to the Senior Employment Counsel and work directly with key members of the teams you support.

    You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

    • You are a mid-level attorney with at least 5 years of employment law experience in a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house legal department
    • You take active ownership of your areas of responsibility: a self-motivated, detail-focused team member with the ability to get out ahead of problems, drive projects, and execute pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions in a responsive and timely manner
    • You are a quick and flexible learner: intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and excited by dynamic change
    • You have high standards, unquestionable ethics, great judgment, well-honed analytical skills, and strong oral and written communications skills
    • You have a strong command of the similarities, differences, and interplay between Federal and California employment laws; familiarity with OFCCP, EEO and AAP requirements also preferred but not required
    • You have excellent academic credentials including a law degree from a top tier school
    • You are a member in good standing of a State bar
