    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Managing litigation and claims for Gap Inc., and all subsidiaries and affiliates in the United States and Canada, with a primary focus on employment litigation.

    • Other responsibilities will include providing employment litigation risk counseling on various business initiatives.

    • Setting strategy and structure for employment litigation matters, understanding the company's business imperatives and managing the company's employment litigation to meet those imperatives, selecting and managing outside counsel, managing employment litigation support and case management paralegals, explaining employment litigation challenges to colleagues and clients and working towards minimizing those challenges.

    • Work extensively with outside counsel and maintain financial responsibility for the work associated with outside law firms and other third-party providers.

    • Interacting and collaborating with business clients and other stakeholders at all levels and capacities within the organization.

    • Proactively identifying and assessing potential legal and/or reputational risk in support of business partners in the United States, and recommending practical, creative solutions that balance legal risk with business impact

    KEY EXPERIENCES

    • JD degree with a strong academic background;

    • At least five to seven years of professional legal experience required;

    • Prior relevant experience handling employment litigation is a pre-requisite

    • Prior relevant work experience in a reputable law firm and/or multinational companies is a prerequisite

    • Proven ability to balance legal and business objectives

    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team to resolve complex matters;

    • Experience with process management and corporate policy development and implementation highly desirable

    • Proven ability to navigate complex organizations effectively

    • Proven ability to effectively influence, collaborate and build partnerships with legal peers and the businesses

    • Proven ability to manage people preferred
