The San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, a full service law firm, is seeking for its growing national energy law practice, a junior- to mid-level associate. The candidate should have at least two years of regulatory and/or transactional experience; bankruptcy experience is a plus.

The associate will work on cutting-edge energy matters, including in the renewable energy and clean tech spaces, and encompassing financing, commercial, and mergers and acquisitions. The energy group represents clients in a wide variety of regulatory proceedings, corporate transactions, commercial disputes, and administrative proceedings. He or she will interact directly with clients, have first chair responsibilities, and be given the training and resources to begin developing their own clients.

Candidates must have a J.D. and be a current, in good standing, or pending member of the California State Bar. They also should have relevant experience or deep interest in the energy, or technology industries, as well as an understanding of the general technical and commercial challenges that our energy clients face, particularly with respect to the California Public Utilities Commission.  Prior law firm experience is not required, but would be very beneficial.

To apply, please upload a cover letter addressed to Shumi Brody, Lawyer Recruiting Manager; resume; and law school transcript. Please specify how you heard about this position.

We are not accepting submissions from third-party recruiters at this time.
