    Disability Rights California seeks a Supervising Attorney for their Advocacy and Community Engagement Practice Group. The Supervising Attorney works under the direct supervision of the Managing Attorney, Lauren Giardina, in collaboration with the Director of the LAU, and other staff at DRC. They will oversee and manage the work under the California State Bar Homelessness Prevention Grants (EAF-HP and NMS-HP) to ensure that DRC provides the best homeless prevention services possible and that we satisfy our grant deliverables and requirements.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) or equivalent and membership in the California State Bar. 

    • 7 years of experience practicing law or internal candidates who have worked at DRC for three continuous year and have 6 years of experience practicing law.
    • Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to identifying and addressing intersectional issues
    • 2 years of experience successfully leading, developing, mentoring, or supervising law-clerks, attorneys or advocates 
    • Expertise in one or more substantive areas of law related to the position 2 years of successfully leading multiple advocacy projects such as intake/outreach projects, administrative proceedings, writs, eviction defense, or single client / single defendant lawsuits.
